Marie Ferret

Marie Ferret is a lawyer at the French-speaking Bar of Brussels since 2019. 

 

She acquired her Certificate of Aptitude to practice law in June 2020 and has participated in various continuing education courses for lawyers. 

​

She obtained with Cum laude her Master's degree in law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, specializing in international and European law.

​

Her main areas of expertise are international law, digital law and the protection of intellectual property. She is particularly interested in the transnational issues that inevitably arise on the internet.

​

Before joining Pravolex, she worked at a law firm specializing in intellectual property and new technologies, where she gained a solid experience.

​

Her interest in these matters motivated her to enroll in an LL.M. program in English specialized in IP & IT law at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven - ranked 10th law school worldwide.

She is able to handle cases in French, Russian and English.

• Drafting and negotiating of contracts (license, transfer, coproduction, non-disclosure agreements...)

• Registration of trademarks, patents, designs, domain names and advice in these contexts 

• Strategic advice and consulting on intellectual property rights, particularly in the digital and transnational context

 

2.         GDPR and IT

• Strategic advice to companies in GDPR-compliance

• Drafting of privacy policies, cookie policies, information notes on data processing

• Drafting and negotiation of data processing subcontracts

• Drafting and negotiation of electronic contracts (sales, distribution, commercial agency, service provision, etc.)

 

3.         General

• Assistance to companies (especially SMEs and start-ups) wishing to establish themselves in Belgium, advice and strategic follow-up of their launch

• Drafting of Articles of association

• Procedures (registration at the Belgian Companies Registry, publications in the Belgian Official Gazette, protection of goodwill...)

 

She is able to handle files in French (mother tongue), English (advanced level), and Russian (second mother tongue). Her passion for international matters and her fluency in her three main languages allow her to assist a diverse and cosmopolitan clientele.
